US arthroplasty courses: CME, eligibility, and travel checklist

An arthroplasty course can suit your interests and still require several checks before you register. Use this guide to organize the information you need from the organizer, your employer, and any body that will receive your continuing education record. It is a planning framework, not confirmation that a listed event meets a licensing or certification requirement.

Verify the exact activity’s CME statement

Open the official page for the course edition and delivery format you plan to attend. Look for the accredited provider, the credit designation, the maximum available credit, and the steps needed to claim it. Save the relevant page or confirmation for your records. A society name, a past year’s brochure, or a general CME logo does not establish the credit available for your registration.

ACCME’s physician resources describe CME Passport as a way to find activities and view completion information reported by providers. Use the provider’s instructions to understand whether and how your participation will be reported. Check your own board, licensing authority, or employer when a specific requirement matters; this directory does not certify credit acceptance.

Separate live attendance from on-demand access

A meeting may offer recordings, a virtual option, a separate online product, or no post-event access at all. Check whether the version you are buying has the same educational content and credit rules as the live event. Ask when access expires, whether an assessment is required, and whether recordings include practical sessions.

AAHKS directs learners to its LEARN platform for recorded educational content. Use the current product page there to confirm access and any activity-specific requirements. Do not assume that purchasing a live meeting ticket automatically includes every recording or that a previously completed activity can be claimed again.

Match your registration category to your situation

Compare member, nonmember, trainee, allied health, and international categories only when the organizer actually offers them. Check whether proof of training status or membership is required. If your department is paying, confirm the invoice name, payment deadline, and reimbursement documentation before completing registration.

Keep a clear distinction between acceptance, payment, and confirmation of a lab seat. Some activities require a separate application or workshop selection. Ask the organizer to resolve ambiguity before reserving travel, especially when your educational goal depends on a limited-capacity practical session.

  • Exact course title, year, venue, and attendance format
  • Registration category and supporting documents
  • Included sessions and any separately ticketed lab
  • Current fee, currency, deadline, and refund terms
  • Course-specific credit statement and claim deadline
  • Written confirmation and organizer contact details

Plan the trip around the complete teaching schedule

Start with the official venue and travel information. Match your arrival time to any required check-in or pre-course session, and your departure time to the final scheduled activity. Compare the course hotel with other options using the full cost, including local transport and any published hotel fees. Hotel arrangements and course registration may have different cancellation policies.

If you are traveling to the United States from abroad, use the current instructions from the relevant government authority and your own institution for travel documentation. A course invitation is not confirmation of entry permission. Arrange any organizer letter through its stated process and leave time for requirements outside the course’s control.

Keep one useful record after the event

Collect the registration receipt, attendance confirmation, completed evaluation, certificate, and any credit transcript in one place. Note the date you requested CME reporting and the provider’s contact channel for corrections. Check that your name and professional identifiers match the records you intend to use.

Keep a separate reflection on your learning objectives and follow-up questions. That makes it easier to explain the educational value of the event to a supervisor or department and to select your next course. If dates, fees, or accreditation details on this directory differ from the official source, use the organizer’s current information and send a correction with the source link.
